Aaron Ramsdale admits it was tough leaving Arsenal but had to take the route he took to secure regular game time. The
England international was Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper for two seasons before being usurped by David Raya last term. Ramsdale
eventually decided to quit the Gunners’ bench to join newly-promoted Southampton. Since then, Ramsdale
has started four league games and will have to match the number of starts he made for the Gunners last season, with two more to go.
However, the 26-year-old admits it was not an easy decision to leave the Gunners but he had to take the chance to secure regular game time.
“There aren’t many people I’ve met who’ve said: “‘I’d love to be a kid sitting on the bench winning the Premier League,’ even if it’s amazing and you’re part of the team,” Ramsdale told สมัคร ufabet Sports.
“If I had the choice of either ending my career having played 400 or 500 games in the Premier League over 10 years or playing 150 games and winning two Premier League titles and the FA Cup and not playing for Arsenal, I’d go with the former. “
It was very difficult to leave that team but when it came time to make the decision, all I wanted was to play in goal and that’s what I’m doing now. I’ve got Southampton to thank for that.”
